Another weekend at Lake Eucumbene, after arriving and pitching our tents and camping gear we settled down for a relaxing afternoon / evening however the fisho in us couldn’t relax and we headed down to lake for an evening session, what a great evening a little wind ripple on the surface and clear skies and a moth hatch happening we thought the fish were about however all we had was a great view of a full moon rise.
After a good nights sleep we woke to a heavy fog blanketing the lake so we waited till after breakfast to launch the boat and headed out across the lake, the lake was very low which made navigation interesting with depths changing rapidly the sounder got a work out.
The fishing was hard over the weekend with a total of 5 Trout caught by all fishos, Ken took line honours with an approx 2kg brown trout, Mel beat her dad with 2 Trout to his 1. On the last Day/Night of fishing the Snowies showed us how fast the weather can change when a cold front came across the lake and dropped a small rain storm, luckily we off the water by that time.
